The Schwule Museum Berlin (Gay Museum Berlin) is the worldwide only institution, which researches systematically history, culture, and the everyday life of homosexuals, and documents this in exhibitions and publications. At the archive, various material on the social and cultural history of homosexual life and on the Gays' movement get collected, among them estates, magazines, articles, posters, films, photographs, records, costumes, and knick-knacks. Meanwhile, the library has more about 10,000 volumes. Both archive and library are open for all interested.
